Wyoming Resident License Requirements

Applicants who would like to conduct insurance business as a resident producer in Wyoming must pass the appropriate examination and apply for/be granted a license by the Wyoming Insurance Department.


To qualify for a resident license, an applicant must:

  • Be a resident of Wyoming.
  • Be at least 18 years of age prior to sitting for the examination.
  • Not have committed any act that is grounds for denial of a license pursuant to the Wyoming Insurance Code.
  • Submit a completed uniform application that can be found at https://www.nipr.com/html/nrlWelcome.html.
  • Pass the examination
  • Pay the appropriate license fee.
